Why Boudoir Became So Much More
When I first started offering boudoir sessions, I honestly wasn’t sure if it would be a forever thing.
Maybe it would be something I offered seasonally, around Valentine’s Day each year.
Or maybe it would stay a request-only type of shoot.
Turns out…
I was very wrong.
After my first few sessions, I started to see the power behind them. What I didn’t realize at the time was just how much was beginning to unfold through my camera lens, and honestly, within my creative spirit too. With every client, it became clearer and clearer:
THIS is what it's all about.
The moments I worried might feel awkward quickly turned into laughter with a fast friend. The doubt I had about whether women would even be interested in boudoir was silenced as more and more emails started coming in, asking for details and availability. And the galleries I began delivering? They were filled with women I felt deeply called to highlight in their truest, most powerful form.
What happens during these sessions is unlike anything else I’ve experienced as a photographer. It’s vulnerable. It’s empowering. And it is so. much. fun.
One of my previous clients was kind enough to answer a question I asked after her session:
What was your biggest takeaway after doing a boudoir shoot?

Delivering a boudoir gallery brings me so much joy, because it always comes with a powerful side of empowerment, confidence, and recognition of self-worth. There is no “right time.” It’s never too late. And it’s never a bad idea to do something just for you.
